The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) has recognized Durham Region as one of the Smart21 Communities of the Year for 2021.
Durham Regional Council has approved the Regional Broadband Network report, outlining two applications for funding from the Province of Ontario and Federal Government of Canada for the phased implementation of a broadband network in Durham Region.
With the announcement of the $1.75 billion Universal Broadband Fund, we look forward to working with the federal government to secure funding for our broadband efforts here in Durham. The Region is taking an active role in ensuring our underserved residents and businesses have access to broadband in the future.
